They call me Alaurilee

My photo
I've been writing poetry from the age of 12. It has, and always will be my outlet, my voice. Join me on my journey . . . I can write about almost anything. :) ~ Life doesn't come with a shiny new book; no users manual of answers to find with one look. Life comes with doors that open and shut; and paths laid before us to be followed or passed up. There's things we can learn and things we may teach; hearts that may find us and souls we may reach. Guaranteed on this journey are teacups of tears; and pains that might hurt us may age us by years. But the beauty of life, love, laughter and giving; come from serving hugs on a platter each and every day we're living. ~

Sounds Like Life to Me

Life is such a beautiful mystery.
Sometimes we try so hard to figure it out;
to define it so that it's meaning is clear.
But doing so often creates more questions.
Often true understanding isn't defined,
it's known by the heart and understood.
To find the answers is to loose the meaning.
If you ask me, sounds like life really;
learn to leave it alone and let it be.
Work through those hard times
and dance through the good.
Soak up those hugs and give them freely too.
Let the tears flow as needed,
then wipe them gently away.
Keep on going and never stop.
Pick up your feet and take another step,
for movement is in essence life.
Keep on keeping on, no matter what.
Learn, laugh, grieve and grow,
and give love freely and completely.
Follow your heart where it leads
but listen to your brain as well;
for it too knows the answers,
without even asking the questions.
This is the true meaning of life,
lived bravely and undefined.
