They call me Alaurilee

I've been writing poetry from the age of 12. It has, and always will be my outlet, my voice. Join me on my journey . . . I can write about almost anything. :) ~ Life doesn't come with a shiny new book; no users manual of answers to find with one look. Life comes with doors that open and shut; and paths laid before us to be followed or passed up. There's things we can learn and things we may teach; hearts that may find us and souls we may reach. Guaranteed on this journey are teacups of tears; and pains that might hurt us may age us by years. But the beauty of life, love, laughter and giving; come from serving hugs on a platter each and every day we're living. ~

"Unallowed Love"

 Picture above from google images www.sodahead.com

My love for you consumes me,
eating little pieces of my soul;
I feel it burn and fester
when I'd rather watch it grow.

I long for so much more than this,
but life and pain get in our way.
I crave to kiss your sweet lips,
but alas i can't - not today.

This love of ours is not allowed-
it isn't written in the books;
I'd like to pencil it in somewhere,
latch on to it with loving hooks.

But alas, as fate would have it,
some things aren't always meant to be;
I'll tuck away these feelings
as little scars inside of me.

Reminders of what could have been
had our love been allowed;
and in my heart of hearts
I'll feel this love and own it proud.

  1. Thank you Paul.... I need to get my grove back. I wrote about 40 poems in a matter of months the first part of 2010. Been surviving life and my husbands health issues since then. I'm breaking out of my shell and participating in Poets United more to help me.... :)
