I've been writing poetry from the age of 12. It has, and always will be my outlet, my voice. Join me on my journey . . . I can write about almost anything. :) ~ Life doesn't come with a shiny new book; no users manual of answers to find with one look. Life comes with doors that open and shut; and paths laid before us to be followed or passed up. There's things we can learn and things we may teach; hearts that may find us and souls we may reach. Guaranteed on this journey are teacups of tears; and pains that might hurt us may age us by years. But the beauty of life, love, laughter and giving; come from serving hugs on a platter each and every day we're living. ~

"One foot in front of the other"

Action equals consequence . . .
inaction does as well.
Whether successful or detrimental,
only time will tell.

You can sit on the floor 'Indian style',
crossing your arms to wait;
longing for all that you don't have,
waiting for life to hand you a plate.

But sometimes doing nothing at all
is merely standing still.
It puts nothing at all into motion
leaving fate to choose as it will.

Better yet to pick yourself up,
dust it all off and take a step;
one foot in front of the other
leading yourself to where you'll get.

Take action for your own life,
have courage to walk and walk.
Don't be scared to speak for yourself
and remember to talk the talk.

"The actions you DON'T take have consequences equally as detrimental as those you do take"

  1. I hate to admit it but my eyes tears up when I read this one. I realized there was something in my life that I never could face. And doing nothing about it had more of a negative effect then doing what I feared most.
    You are a wonderful poet and you captured my soul's thoughts. Thank you :)

  3. Love this! Many feel if they take no action at all, that it is just that - "nothing" - but you've often times spoken louder than had you done something/stood for something in the first place.

    {{HUGS}} for your wonderful work!
