They call me Alaurilee

I've been writing poetry from the age of 12. It has, and always will be my outlet, my voice. Join me on my journey . . . I can write about almost anything. :) ~ Life doesn't come with a shiny new book; no users manual of answers to find with one look. Life comes with doors that open and shut; and paths laid before us to be followed or passed up. There's things we can learn and things we may teach; hearts that may find us and souls we may reach. Guaranteed on this journey are teacups of tears; and pains that might hurt us may age us by years. But the beauty of life, love, laughter and giving; come from serving hugs on a platter each and every day we're living. ~

Hugs on a Platter

Life doesn't come
with a shiny new book;
no user's manual of answers
to find with one look.

Life comes with doors
that open and shut;
and paths laid before us
to be followed or passed up.

There are things we can learn
and things we may teach;
hearts that may find us
and souls we may reach.

Guaranteed on this journey
are teacups of tears;
and pains that might hurt us
may age us by years.

But the beauty of life;
love, laughter and giving;
come from serving hugs on a platter
each and every day we're living.

  1. I'm so envious of your talent to use words that rhyme. Such talent!

  3. I also wanted to tell you that there is a great poetry site on blogger called Poets United. They feature diffent poets on blogger and do poetry promts each week. It is a great way to feature your work and meet other poets that blog. I have a link to it on my blog. Hope to see you at Poets United we would love to have you there. Your poetry would be seen by a bigger audience and it is truly worthy of that.

  4. Thank you for this poem about how your brand came about...i've always loved it - from the first time I saw it!! as you state:
    "Guaranteed on this journey
    are teacups of tears;
    and pains that might hurt us
    may age us by years"

    There will be tears - but - hugs - man - do they make things better, help our outlook to be better, reminds us that someone does care.

    Hugs on a bad day, makes things good; on a good day, makes things great; on a great day - makes the day awesome! Keep serving up those HUGS!!
